Visitor Boycott

Our environment is screaming a distress message to us through harsh droughts, declining wetlands, melting polar ice caps, horrific storms, and homes-crushing mudslides.

Are we listening?

It is clear human activity is unbalancing our environment and overheating our planet. Unfortunately our environment is affected by attitudes at the community and government level. We must listen to the environment message and do everything we can to protect our distressed ecosystems.

The Nanaimo visitor boycott is a protest over environmental degradation of vital marsh habitat and a sensitive ecosystem inventory. To protect our planet we must be committed to saving our local ecosystems. A habitat restoration initiative is underway to restore a disturbed wetland habitat called Jingle Pot Marsh.

Please enter this website to learn more about Nanaimo’s environmental issue. When exploring this web site you will find a newspaper-style presentation of information that spans the past decade. This website will be withdrawn when the City of Nanaimo ends its conflict with award-wining community stewards and embarks on habitat restoration.

What can you do for the environment?

Please become informed, join our protest by emailing the City of Nanaimo, and blog why you are not going to visit Nanaimo.
